Alistair didn't grow up easy, and has every excuse to withdraw from the all races; human and vampire, alike. As a man, he often watched his fathers schemes fail and lead to the death of his brothers. When they were ran from society and into hiding for everything his father had done, Alistair swore he'd take care of his family, should they never marry. Then when his father tricked him down into London tunnels, promising he'd be the next royal, Alistair's father let a vampire named Astaroth change him. The plan was that as an immortal, nobody could stop in Alistair's way to the top. However, after his transition, Alistair slaughtered every peasant meant for him and wound up killing his father to get back to his family. It's only when he got back home, that he realized his sisters had been given to Astaroth in exchange of him making Alistair immortal. Devastated, he fled into seclusion, and remains secluded as much as he can. Carlisle is an acquaintance and nothing more; they only see each other once every century-- until now. Alistair holds a deep mistrust for both human and vampire races. If word gets out that hunters are planning to take down the vampire race, Alistair might just be the lone vampire that reaches out in means to offer information, pointing out the Cullen's first, so that the race will cease to exist and he can silently slip into oblivion.

For Randall, life went on normally once he left the Cullen's house years ago. For a shot time, he traveled with Mary. But it was common that they would split away from each other after a few months. Neither wanted to be tied down, but the company was welcomed. After a few years of blending in with the humans, Randall has come to the conclusion that all is not what it seems with the humans. He hears talk of hunters popping up. For fear of being caught, he resorts back to the shadows. But when Mary comes back with the claim that two pairs of eyes are better than one, Randall finds himself in a precarious position. Mary's been tracked by a hunter. It's a matter of time before the two of them are cornered. While on the run, a decision needs to be made. Stay on their own or find the other American Nomads, Peter and Charlotte. Searching for Peter and Charlotte could lead the hunters to those two as well, but it's safer to have a larger group. Which decision is the right one?

Benjamin having left the Egyptian Coven, due to Amun's controlling and possessive nature to keep him hidden, and under his watchful eyes, is lured back by Tia's supposed death, though what awaits him is anything of the sort. Tia is alive, and very much under Amun and Kebi's control. While knowing that if he chooses to go back, there may not be a way out. Will he go back to free Tia, or is she a helpless cause who wants to stay? While those questions remain in the air, Benjamin can't find it in himself to want to save his childhood love. What could've caused that turn of events? Was there another reason for Benjamin's leaving?
When he returns, unable to forget Tia, despite everything, the pieces click into place like a puzzle. Tia is no longer whom he wished she would still be, a former shell of herself, a lost cause. Determined to bring her back to whom she once was, he rejoins, but will Amun let him walk away for a second time? Or did he learn from his past mistakes?
