Too many times, the vampires under the Volturi's ruling have slipped up and let a human in on their secrets. If they didn't do it, then the Quileute legends did. It's said word always travels quickest by mouth, and with the legends being told to each new shifter over time, it's almost a guarantee that someone along the line couldn't keep their mouth shut, and let the legends slip free; the spirit of the wolf warrior protecting those in their tribes from the cold ones. Bella found out what Edward was, in the beginning, just by venturing into google and checking out a few books from the library. It clearly doesn't take a genius. Who's to say that others haven't done the same?

Who's to say that people haven't already found out, and decided that the vampiric race, as a whole, aren't a threat to their survival? They have, and they haven't taken kindly to the idea of vampires actually existing, let alone other supernatural creatures. How much of human history has been rewritten to benefit these monsters? How many deaths a year are covered up by something else, just to keep them same? When the human race is threatened, it's like clockwork that they ban together and fight back. Even some of La Push's own residences have been pulled into the whole ordeal. The hunters don't have the weapons, but the wolves have connections to a scientist with a laboratory, and when all their determination and intellect is combined, dangerous things are made.

Under the noses of most supernatural, entire hunter organizations have started to form across the globe. They build the weapons, for the tactics, and train as much as necessary, so that they can rid the world of vampires once and for all: taking back what is theirs. When vampires skin deems impenetrable by the heaviest weapons normal citizens can get their hands on, the hunters decide it's time to go another route. It's that, or they get in with the system and find a way to pilfer military weapons. When one hunter organization meets up with another, and together they form a toxin that's mean to weaken and then kill vampires, all might prove futile. They don't know the inner workings of a vampires body, and their toxin just might have the opposite effect than intended.

Of course, not every human of Washington is clued in on the secret. Some carry on with their peaceful lives; carrying out everyday jobs, working to get their degrees, and planning for a future with spouses and children. What's that saying? Ignorance is bliss. With any luck, these human will remain blissfully ignorant to the troubles around them. It's a small state, though, and a smaller town at that. Not everything can down without collateral damage, even if that means lives will be lost and blood will be shed.

ASHLEIGH (&SETH) → Ashleigh Walsh. Yes I am as American Irish as they come, but besides a few Irish traditions, my family was the typical American family. My parents just moved to Forks, Washington for work. My parents weren't rich, I was raised Catholic but I'm not sure what I believed. There was just too much lore to believe in just one single religion. Maybe that was a problem with being so smart. I wanted to be an Archaeologist. I wanted to badly to travel the world and find artifacts. Which is one of the reasons I picked the college so far from home, I wanted to go to New York. This was my Senior year, and I couldn't waited to Graduate and get out of here. Forks wasn't for me. It was nice, but it was too small. I missed Seattle. It wasn't far, but far enough. Far enough from my friends.
