All his life, Herc knew nothing about his father. Well, little to nothing. Just knew the guy was one that seduced his mother then left her as soon as she told him she was pregnant with Hercules. How nice of the guy, right? Well, that sent her into a downward spiral for a few years. She became a drinker and even dabbled in some drugs when he was a baby. That was, until Zeus’ return. He wasn’t happy with his wife, Hera, once again and wanted a chick on the side. So he set up Herc and his mother with a lavish townhome and promised they would want for nothing as long as Herc’s mother promised to be there whenever he wanted her. That’s how Herc found out about daddy dearest. And how he hated him. So he decided he wanted to go to Hera. Try to get her to make Zeus leave his mother alone. The last thing he wanted was for her to be used by the man.

However, when he went to Hera, he got a ton of stuff thrown at him for his troubles. She blamed Hercules and his mother and vowed to ruin them. Sure enough, the next day, his mother was fired from her receptionist job and Hercules’ professors in college started failing him on his assignments the following weeks. So he had to resort to the one thing he said he would never do, he got with a friend of his father’s, Phil, to help peddle Zeus’ drugs. He was a big club owner around town, owning five of the six hottest places in town, and he peddled drugs through them for extra cash. That was how he met Megara, one of the dancing girls at a club he was stationed in. He got free booze and could stay as long as he wanted just as long as he sold a certain dollar amount per night. 

After meeting Megara and becoming enamored, he saw how Zeus was with her, coming onto her and he saw red. He wanted to screw with his mother then go out with other women as well. That’s when he confronted Meg and found out she hated Zeus. He just wanted her because his brother, Hades, basically owned her. He basically paid top dollar for her to get a divorce from the father of her young son. Whom Hades now kept from her until she paid up. Zeus only wanted her because Hades had her and it was a brotherly rivalry thing. So now not only did he have to rescue his mother from Zeus, Hercules had to find some way to get Meg out from under Hades’ thumb too. What was he going to do?
